Data Science
When implemented correctly data science is one of the most important tools at a company’s disposal. However, it is used inefficiently all too often. This is because companies often lack a cohesive data science strategy, opting instead to capture seemingly infinite amounts of data without the means or vision to appropriately analyze it. At Vela we use a three-pronged approach to structure our understanding of data science problems and solutions. These are:
Capture: We encourage clients to capture the specific data needed with a clear goal for its utilization, rather than capturing data writ large.
Evaluate: We help clients to utilize a diverse range of methods and models to evaluate the data, understanding that different data requires specific analytic tools.
Deliver: We work with clients to present findings to decision makers in ways that are easy to consume and align with existing workflows.
